13 June – Dallas, Texas, USA

With an electrical needle buzzing like a mechanical wasp and a rainbow-colored display of plastic jars surrounding him, Oliver Peck smiled with satisfaction from under his squirrel-tail moustache as he leaned over to etch a black and red-colored “13” across the skin of the woman sitting in front of him.

This dramatic scene may sound like a nightmare from a horror movie but - far from that - was actually part of Peck’s record-setting attempt at his parlor, Elm Street Tattoo, for the “most tattoos in 24 hours by an individual artist.”

Peck began the attempt at midnight on Friday the 13th and – with the dedicated help of his talented staff - broke the previous record of 400 tattoos, at 11:00pm that same day.

By midnight, Peck had inked 415 tattoos at his parlor in what became - unlike the nightmare on Elm Street described above - a life-long dream come true.
